The Swedish Enforcement Authority (Kronofogden), is the government agency responsible for debt collection, enforcement, and supervision of insolvency across Sweden, with a growing role in cooperation with the police on asset seizure linked to organised crime. With over 50 web applications serving citizens, businesses, and internal staff, the Authority needed to modernise its digital landscape, reduce technical debt, and establish a future-proof foundation for delivering secure, scalable public services.

tDigital led the digital transformation at the Swedish Enforcement Authority, designing and implementing a reference architecture adopted across more than 50 web applications. We modernised source code, built new IT infrastructure, and introduced new ways of working across development teams. The engagement also included SaaS procurement, improved frontend and backend integration, and full compliance with OWASP security standards.

The work covered solution architecture, frontend and backend modernisation, infrastructure design, security, procurement, and cross-departmental collaboration. The resulting architecture, recognised by Gartner, reduced costs, improved scalability, and established a shared foundation for efficient IT delivery across the organisation.
