Elfa is a Swedish storage solutions company headquartered in Malmö, founded in 1948 by engineer Arne Lydmar. The Elfa Group operates three manufacturing units and seven sales companies across Europe, with its modular hanging storage systems known to customers in the Nordics, the UK, and beyond. As more of the company’s customer journey moved online, Elfa needed a way to help shoppers visualise and configure storage solutions for their own spaces before purchase, bridging the gap between physical product and digital decision-making.

tDigital developed a 3D product configurator for Elfa, enabling customers to design and visualise their own hanging storage systems before purchase. The configurator was built as a frontend application using React and Redux, with VR rendering integrated to give shoppers an immersive view of how the configured system would look in their space. The work covered frontend development, 3D and VR engineering, interactive product design, and configurator logic. The result was a customer-facing tool that brought Elfa’s modular storage offering into a digital, interactive buying experience, helping shoppers across Europe make confident purchasing decisions.
