Apotek Hjärtat is Sweden’s largest private pharmacy chain, with locations across the country, from major cities to rural and sparsely populated areas. Owned by ICA Gruppen, around 70 of its pharmacies are co-located with larger ICA grocery stores, allowing customers to combine pharmacy errands with everyday shopping. As a regulated, consumer-facing retailer in a sensitive sector, Apotek Hjärtat needed an e-commerce experience that combined modern customer journeys with the reliability and compliance expected of a national pharmacy chain.

tDigital contributed frontend development to Apotek Hjärtat’s e-commerce site, built on Episerver Commerce. The work covered customer-facing components across the buying journey including navigation, product display, store locator with map functionality, loyalty programme integration, shopping cart, and checkout. The engagement spanned frontend development across the breadth of the e-commerce experience, from product discovery through purchase. The result was a modern, consistent customer experience supporting Apotek Hjärtat’s online retail operation across the Swedish market.
